27.5mm JCW Silent Board is an acoustic wall liner manufactured by laminating a 15mm acoustic resilient layer to a 12.5mm layer of acoustic grade plasterboard to drastically reduce sound transmission. It can be applied to either masonry or stud walls and is also suitable to reduce flanking noise up and down walls.

INSTALLATION
  • All skirting and coving is to be removed.
  • Walls should be flat and/or prepared to accept the JCW Silent Boards.
  • Start fitting from either right hand or left hand corner. Plan the bottom row to allow for cuts and staggered joints on all of the rows above.
  • JCW Silent Boards must be isolated from the surrounding floor, ceiling and walls. Use JCW Rubber Isolation Strips between the JCW Silent Boards and the surrounding surfaces.
  • Any minor gaps can be filled with JCW Acoustic Sealant.
  • Alternatively, use 5mm spacers between the JCW Silent Boards and surrounding surfaces, then once the wall is completed, remove the spacers and fully the space  with JCW Acoustic Sealant.
  • JCW Silent Boards are mechanically fixed to the wall using 12 fixings per board; solid brick or block walls use tap in screw frame fixings. On Stud walls use suitable self-countersinking screws.
  • Do not overtighten the screw fixings,
  • Once the first JCW Silient Board is fitted in position, continue along the bottom row filling any gaps between the boards with JCW Acoustic Sealant.
  • JCW Silent Boards can be plaster skimmed.

JCW Acoustic Silent Board has been independently tested in a UK Verified independent UKAS accredited laboratory.
