Why are Insulated Plasterboards a Perfect Solution

It is time to commit to easy drylining with insulated plasterboards. These insulated plasterboards are a perfect solution for your DIY drylining project, due to the fact that these can be easily installed, require little or no maintenance over the years, and you get two products for the price of one – a highly efficient and resilient plasterboard and an insulation material that will keep your walls safe, sound and protected from all potentially harmful exterior effects, such as temperature fluctuations, wind loads, humidity and condensation. Depending on the preferred installation technique, whether it is the traditional dot and dab method or mechanical fixing of the boards, Kingspan K118, Celotex PL4000, Xtratherm Thin-R Thermal Liner, Safe-R Thermal Liner, Knauf EPS Laminate, EcoTherm EcoLiner, Gyproc Thermaline and other related insulated plasterboards available online at Insulation Shop are just the thing you need.

Insulated plasterboard comprises of a standard plasterboard pre-bonded to an insulating material sandwiched into a single sheet. They are available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses and differentiate by the type of insulating material. These thermal plasterboards are used on internal walls to enhance the thermal performance and for user comfort without adding too much depth the wall. They can be nailed, screwed or glued with an adhesive to the wall. They can also be useful underneath a flat or pitched roof ceiling.

Insulated plasterboards are used to line the internal walls and even soffits, when both insulation and drylining is needed. It is much cheaper and quicker to install than the traditional drylining and insulation separately. In most insulated plasterboard, the insulation is foil backed to provide an excellent vapour resistance, where the foil acts as the barrier that limits the moisture diffusion and prevents creeping damp.

Celotex Insulated Plasterboard

Celotex PL4000 range comprise of premium PIR insulation bonded to quality 12.5mm tapered edge plasterboard.

EcoTherm Insulated Plasterboard

Ecotherm EcoLiner insulated plasterboards consisted of paper backed PIR insulation core bonded to fine gypsum plasterboard with ivory face of the 12.5 tapered edge plasterboard which enables smooth, flat and seamless finish with either drywall jointing techniques or skim coat plaster.

Kingspan Insulated Plasterboard

Kingspan Kooltherm K118 insulated plasterboard comprises of a premium performance, lower lambda internal wall insulation, with a fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic core factory bonded to a 12.5mm plasterboard. It is suitable for mechanically fixed or dab and dot adhesive bonded drylining.

Knauf Insulated Plasterboard

Knauf EPS Laminate comprises of 9.5mm tapered edge wallboard bonded to 12.5mm expanded polystyrene, offering great thermal and a level of acoustic insulation and drylining in walls and warm roof constructions in both remodelling and new build projects.

Knauf PIR Thermal Laminate consists of a 9.5mm tapered edge wallboard bonded to 65.5mm PIR insulation, offering great thermal and a level of acoustic insulation, perfect solution for insulation and dry-lining in walls and warm roof constructions.

Xtratherm Insulated Plasterboard

Xtratherm XT/TL Thermal Liner Insulated Plasterboard is a high-performance rigid insulation board made from Xtratherm PIR core faced with composite kraft paper bonded to tapered edge 9.5mm (and 12.5 mm) plasterboard, specially designed for internal walls dry lining and insulation, due to its closed cell composition and tight facings that provide not only thermal insulation but also high level of moisture resistance and a vapour control layer. They have different types for dot & dab and for mechanical fixing.

Xtratherm Safe-R Thermal Liner is a composite insulated panel of Xtratherm Phenolic core with a composite tissue facing bonded to a 12.5mm tapered edge plasterboard for internal applications. Xtratherm Safe-R Thermal Liner SR/TB-MF is designed to be fixed mechanically, while Xtratherm Safe-R Thermal Liner SR/TB can be fixed with th edot & dab method. Xtratherm Safe-R Thermal Liner provides high levels of thermal insulation and dry lining in one operation for masonry walls.
