DriLyner Fix Direct Linings System
British Gypsum DriLyner Fix System is a direct‑bonded wall lining solution designed for fixing Gyproc plasterboards and Gyproc ThermaLine insulated laminates directly to masonry backgrounds using a combination of Gyproc DriWall Adhesive dabs and Gypframe MF10 Channels. It provides an efficient method of upgrading the thermal performance, surface finish, and overall comfort of internal walls, particularly in refurbishment projects or where backgrounds have minor irregularities. By using gypsum adhesive between the channel and the masonry, the system helps to reduce thermal bridging, while the small cavity created behind the boards allows for limited service runs without chasing the substrate. The system typically creates a 20 mm nominal cavity, depending on adhesive dab thickness.
A typical DriLyner Fix installation includes:
- Gyproc DriWall Adhesive applied in dabs to the masonry background.
- Gypframe MF10 Channels bedded into the adhesive to provide a stable fixing surface.
- Gyproc plasterboard or Gyproc ThermaLine laminate fixed to the MF10 channels.
- Gyproc Sealant for perimeter sealing and improved airtightness.
- Optional Gyproc SoundCoat Plus parge coat for enhanced acoustic performance.
Key Features
- Direct‑bonded lining system using adhesive dabs and MF10 channels.
- Compatible with Gyproc WallBoard, Gyproc WallBoard Duplex, and Gyproc ThermaLine laminates.
- Achieves a wide range of U‑values (0.35–0.17 W/m²K) depending on board type and thickness.
- Reduces thermal bridging thanks to the use of gypsum adhesive between the channel and masonry.
- Accommodates minor surface irregularities in the background wall.
- Allows services to be incorporated without chasing the masonry.
- Suitable for both new‑build and refurbishment applications.
- Can be finished with Thistle or ThistlePro plasters, or Gyproc jointing systems.
Applications
- Thermal upgrading of existing external walls.
- Lining masonry walls in new‑build housing.
- Refurbishment projects requiring improved energy efficiency.
- Situations where a slim, fast‑fit lining system is preferred over independent metal framing.
