GypWall Curve
GypWall Curve is a lightweight curved wall and lining system designed by British Gypsum to create smooth, concave or convex internal curves with radii down to 600 mm. It allows designers to introduce flowing shapes and feature walls without the need for complex timber formers or wet‑forming techniques. The system is built around the Gypframe 72 EDCL 80 CurveLyner Channel, a specially engineered metal channel that bends easily on site while maintaining structural integrity. GypWall Curve is used to form architectural curves, feature walls, and curved linings in commercial, residential, educational, and public buildings. It provides a smooth, seamless finish using standard Gyproc boards, enabling creative interior forms while keeping installation practical and cost‑effective.
Key Features
- Minimum radius of 600 mm, concave or convex, without pre‑wetting boards.
- Cost‑effective compared with bespoke joinery or complex framing.
- No curved timber templates required — the metal channel bends to shape on site.
- Compatible with standard GypWall systems, with only the CurveLyner Channel being unique.
- Smooth, seamless finish using standard Gyproc finishing products.
- Can be installed as a lining to existing structures using Gypframe I‑Studs.
A typical GypWall Curve build‑up includes:
- Gypframe 72 EDCL 80 CurveLyner Channel (floor and ceiling track) — engineered with an expandable outer flange for easy bending.
- Gypframe 70 mm C‑Studs or I‑Studs for vertical framing.
- Gyproc or Glasroc boards, fixed in multiple layers depending on performance requirements.
- Gyproc jointing or skim finish for a continuous curved surface.
Typical Applications
- GypWall Curve is used in:
- Reception areas and lobbies
- Retail interiors
- Cultural and educational buildings
- Feature walls in offices or residential spaces
- Corridors and circulation spaces where soft curves improve flow
- Its flexibility makes it suitable for both aesthetic design and space‑planning improvements.
