Aquapanel Systems
Knauf Aquapanel System comprises a range of cement boards, jointing compounds, and finishing accessories that together deliver high-performance interior and exterior solutions. Knauf Aquapanel cement boards are particularly suited to demanding wet and humid environments.
These cement boards are specifically engineered to be water-resistant, moisture-resistant, and vapour-resistant. They are suitable for use as render carriers on external walls and soffits, as tile backer boards for internal walls in wet areas, and as roofing boards. Despite their robustness, Knauf Aquapanel cement boards are surprisingly lightweight, durable, impact-resistant, and quick and straightforward to install. An additional benefit is that Aquapanel boards can be bent and curved to a radius of one metre, offering enhanced design flexibility.
Knauf Aquapanel Cement Board is a sturdy, non-combustible building panel composed of aggregated Portland cement with a coated glass fibre mesh embedded on both surfaces. The panels feature square edges, which are reinforced for added strength. This dry panel system combines the strength of brick and block construction and is capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions. It is completely water-resistant and impervious to mould and mildew. Furthermore, installation costs are low, making it an economical choice.

Arches and domes can be constructed using Knauf Aquapanel Outdoor boards. Curved designs with a radius as small as one metre can be achieved using a full board. For tighter radii, the board must be cut into narrower strips. The risk of fire is minimised by using non-combustible building materials wherever possible. In the event of a fire, the structure should remain stable for a sufficient duration and prevent the spread of fire and smoke to neighbouring buildings or other parts of the same building, allowing occupants adequate time to evacuate safely. The Aquapanel Cement Board Outdoor has been rigorously tested and proven in extensive fire safety assessments.
Aquapanel Cement Board Outdoor is primarily used as a render baseboard for water-managed and ventilated façades, as well as in external suspended ceilings. It is manufactured from a relatively dense material and possesses a higher modulus of elasticity. This board is highly vapour-tight, meaning that any water penetrating the wall construction will find it more difficult to diffuse through the board.
Aquapanel Joint Filler - grey is a cement-bound filling material specially developed for the joint treatment of Aquapanel Cement Board Outdoor in walls and ceilings.
Aquapanel Cement Board Indoor is the perfect board for exceptionally light performance, reliability and stability even in wet and humid conditions for both wall and ceiling applications. This board is ideal for use in the most challenging conditions, such as swimming pools, steam saunas, communal showers and kitchen areas. Aquapanel Cement Board Indoor is manufactured from inorganic materials and highly resistant to water and mould, weighs just 11 kg/m² – making it easy to handle and fast to install, with superb flexibility for curved walls too.
Aquapanel Cement Board SkyLite is developed specifically for use on ceilings in indoor and outdoor areas (with wind loads of up to 1.5 kN /m²).
Both 6mm and 12.5mm Aquapanel Cement Board Rooftop boards are now FM approved as a cover board with mechanically attached membranes (class 4470 - Single-Ply, Polymer-Modified Bitumen Sheet, Built-Up Roof (BUR) for Use in Class 1 and Noncombustible Roof Deck Construction). The approval identification is PR461397.
