GypWall Resilient
GypWall Resilient is a lightweight, non‑loadbearing acoustic partition system designed to reduce airborne sound transmission in line with BS EN ISO 10140‑2. It uses a single metal frame construction with resilient components to limit vibration transfer, making it well suited to buildings where improved acoustic privacy is required. GypWall Resilient provides enhanced airborne sound insulation, with performance levels reaching up to 65 Rw dB, depending on board configuration and cavity insulation. This makes it appropriate for separating walls in residential, commercial, healthcare, and educational environments where noise control is a priority. The system also offers fire resistance of up to 120 minutes when tested to BS EN 1364‑1, supporting compliance with building regulations in higher‑risk or multi‑occupancy settings.
A standard GypWall Resilient build-up includes:
- Gypframe metal studs arranged as a single frame
- Resilient bars fixed to one side to reduce direct sound paths
- High‑performance plasterboards, such as Gyproc FireLine or Gyproc DuraLine, installed in multiple layers
- Acoustic mineral wool (e.g., Isover APR) within the cavity to absorb sound energy
- Thistle MultiFinish skim on both sides for a smooth, durable surface
- This combination helps control both structural vibration and airborne noise
APPLICATION
- Apartment separating walls, where acoustic comfort is essential
- Hotel rooms, to reduce noise transfer between guests
- Schools and hospitals, where privacy and quiet environments are important
- Commercial offices, particularly between meeting rooms or private workspaces
ADVANTAGES
- Covered by the SpecSure® lifetime warranty, ensuring long‑term system integrity when installed to specification.
- Suitable for heights up to 4 metres, depending on configuration.
