Breather Membranes
Breather membranes are specialised building materials used primarily in roofing and wall construction to provide a weather-resistant barrier that allows the passage of water vapour while preventing the ingress of liquid water and wind-driven rain. They play a crucial role in maintaining the durability and energy efficiency of buildings by managing moisture and protecting structural elements.
Function
- Waterproof yet Vapour Permeable: Breather membranes are designed to be impermeable to liquid water, stopping rain and snow from penetrating the building fabric. Simultaneously, they allow water vapour generated inside the building to escape, preventing condensation build-up within the structure.
