Novia Black+ Supreme Roof and Wall Breather Membrane is a 3-layer high performance, lightweight wall breather membrane for pitched cold and warm roofs, and insulated wall applications. Novia Black+ Supreme Roof and Wall Breather Membrane has excellent Class W1 water resistance while providing high breathability. Novia Black+ Supreme is black on one side, grey on the reverse, with a 150mm overlap line. Novia Black+ Supreme membrane has excellent water resistance while providing high breathability, and also complies with EN 13501-1 Fire Classification Class E.


CHARACTERISTICS
  • 3-layer, high performance wall breather with microporous core,
  • Excellent tensile and nail tear strength,
  • Fully airtight, and vapour permeable,
  • UKCA to EN 13859-1 for roofs and EN 13859-2 for walls,
  • Class E Fire Classification to EN 13501-1,
  • Suitable for zones 1-5 in the UK for BS 5534 wind uplift without additional tapes.
APPLICATION
  • Pitched cold and warm roofs,
  • Insulated wall applications.
INSTALLATION
To walls
  • Ensure upper layers overlap lower layers.
  • Work from the bottom moving upwards and ensuring there are minimum overlaps of 100 mm on the horizontal joints.
  • Do not begin a vertical lap joint within 300 mm of a corner,
  • Vertical laps should be at least 150 mm.
  • Ensure the bottom timber is also protected by an overlap.
  • Fix at suitable intervals with galvanised nails, stainless staples or similar permanent fixings. 
To roofs
  • Ensure upper layers overlap lower layers.
  • Work from the bottom moving upwards and ensure there are minimum overlaps.
  • The membrane should be overlapped 200 mm on each side of the ridge.
  • All vertical overlaps must be situated on a rafter and must be sealed.
  • Fix at suitable intervals with galvanised nails, stainless staples or similar permanent fixings.
  • At any entry points for services (soil pipes, vents etc.), ensure that the membrane is properly sealed.
  • Use of Novia breather membrane tapes.
  • Ensure that for wall or warm roof applications, a vapour barrier is installed on the warm side of the insulation.
