DuPont Tyvek Housewrap - Water‑Resistive & Breathable Membrane for External Walls - 1.4m × 100m roll

DuPont Tyvek Housewrap is a durable, vapour‑permeable, water‑resistive barrier (WRB) designed for use on the external side of wall assemblies. Made from high‑density polyethylene (HDPE) fibres spun and fused into a uniform, non‑woven sheet, it provides exceptional protection against wind‑driven rain, air infiltration and moisture, while still allowing water vapour to escape from within the wall. Tyvek Housewrap forms a continuous protective layer behind cladding systems, improving the durability and energy efficiency of the building envelope. Its unique HDPE structure creates millions of microscopic pores that block bulk water and air but allow vapour to pass through, helping prevent mould, rot and insulation degradation.  

It is suitable for timber frame, masonry, steel frame, and hybrid wall systems, and complies with EN 13859‑2 for wall underlays.

CHARACTERISTICS

• Breathable membrane — sd value approx. 0.01 m, allowing moisture vapour to escape while keeping water out. 
• Superior water resistance — W1 water‑tightness rating and 1.5 m water column performance. 
• High tear and tensile strength — 310 N/50 mm tensile strength (MD/XD) for robust site handling. 
• Improved airtightness — reduces air leakage, helping insulation perform closer to its full R‑value. 
• UV‑resistant — withstands up to 4 months of UV exposure during construction.
