APPLICATION
- Methane, Radon and CO gas barrier in groundwork applications
INSTALLATION
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from sharp objects or debris.
- Lay a suitable compacted sand blinding or geotextile protection layer if required.
- Unroll the Novia Methane Pro 390gsm carefully over the prepared surface.
- Overlap adjoining sheets by a minimum of 150mm.
- Ensure the membrane is laid flat without excessive wrinkles or creases.
- Use Novia Double-Sided Butyl Tape between membrane overlaps to create a secure bond.
- Apply Novia Single-Sided Foil Tape on the top surface of the joint for additional sealing.
- Press firmly to ensure airtight and watertight adhesion.
- Cut the membrane neatly around service penetrations, leaving a small overlap.
- Seal all pipe or service penetrations using Novia Preformed Top Hats and Butyl Tape.
- Ensure all edges are properly sealed to prevent gas ingress.
- Inspect all joints, overlaps, and sealed areas for full compliance with regulations.
- Protect the membrane from damage by installing a screed, insulation, or protective layer before further construction.
Note: This membrane is not suitable for applications where hydrostatic pressure is present.
