GypLyner Single Internal Wall Lining System
GypLyner Single is a metal‑framed internal wall lining system designed to upgrade the thermal, acoustic, and surface finish performance of existing masonry walls. It is particularly effective where the background is uneven, out of plumb, or unsuitable for direct bonding, such as with plastered surfaces or substrates that cannot accept adhesive systems. The system uses a lightweight Gypframe GL1 Lining Channel framework fixed to the background with brackets, creating a controlled cavity that can accommodate insulation, services, and vapour control layers where required. This makes it a versatile solution for both new‑build and refurbishment projects. This creates a cavity typically between 25 mm and 125 mm, depending on bracket selection.
A typical GypLyner Single build‑up includes:
- Gypframe GL1 Lining Channels
- Gypframe GL2 or GL9 Brackets (depending on stand‑off requirement)
- Gypframe GL8 Track at floor and soffit
- Gypframe GL3 Channel Connectors
- Gyproc plasterboards or Gyproc ThermaLine laminates
- Optional Isover insulation within the cavity
- Gyproc Sealant for perimeter airtightness
Key Features
- Metal‑framed lining system suitable for uneven or unsuitable backgrounds.
- Achieves acoustic performance from 49–66 Rw dB, depending on board and insulation choice.
- Thermal performance ranging from 0.35 to 0.21 W/m²K, depending on Gyproc ThermaLine laminate type and thickness.
- Compatible with a wide range of Gyproc plasterboards and Gyproc ThermaLine insulated laminates.
- Provides a service void for electrical and plumbing runs.
- Helps correct background irregularities without extensive preparation.
- Covered by the SpecSure lifetime warranty when installed as a full British Gypsum system.
Typical Applications
- Upgrading solid masonry walls in residential or commercial buildings
- Improving thermal performance of external walls
- Enhancing acoustic separation between rooms
- Situations where bonded lining systems (e.g., DriLyner) are unsuitable
- Projects requiring a service void behind the lining
