13mm PVC Corner Profile for Wet Render a solution for reinforcing 90-degree external corners in traditional wet-render applications. Because wet render is applied much more thickly than modern thin-coat systems, this bead features a deeper nose to act as a robust screed guide and larger perforated wings to handle the weight and volume of the mortar. It is specifically designed for traditional thick-coat rendering, such as sand and cement or lime-based mixes.

CHARACTERISTICS

• The central spine is raised significantly from the wings. This provides a clear, straight edge that the renderer uses to rule off the mortar, ensuring a consistent thickness across the entire wall.
• Traditional wet render remains damp for a significant period during the curing process. Being 100% PVC, this bead is immune to the moisture and chemicals in the mix, preventing the rust and staining common with traditional galvanised steel beads.
• The wings are designed with large, precision-cut holes. This allows the heavy render to pass through and create a massive mechanical bond with the substrate, effectively locking the bead into the heart of the render skin.

INSTALLATION

• Ensure the masonry is properly dampened or primed (depending on the mix) before fixing the bead to ensure the best possible bond through the perforations.
• This bead is typically bedded into dabs of the render mix itself. Ensure the dabs are spaced closely enough to support the weight of the wet render once the main application begins.
• Use the nose of the bead as your primary guide. By running a straight edge or a featheredge against the nose, you ensure the entire elevation is flat and the corner is perfectly plumb.
• Because the nose is deeper and more prominent than a thin-coat bead, it is essential to wipe it clean as you finish the render. This reveals a crisp, straight line that looks excellent once the wall is painted.
