This flanking strip is installed vertically around the entire perimeter of a floating floor – whether it's an acoustic overlay board system, a screed, or a battened floor – where it abuts walls, columns, or other fixed building elements. Its key function is to absorb impact energy and airborne sound vibrations that would otherwise travel down the floor into the wall and then flank into adjacent rooms.
