5mm x 45mm x 45mm Hush 45L Flanking Strip is a highly resilient acoustic isolation material engineered to prevent flanking sound transmission around the perimeters of acoustic flooring systems. It effectively decouples the floating floor from direct contact with rigid surrounding structures, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations Part E (Resistance to the Passage of Sound) and enhancing overall acoustic performance. This flanking strip is installed vertically around the entire perimeter of a floating floor – whether it's an acoustic overlay board system, a screed, or a battened floor – where it abuts walls, columns, or other fixed building elements. Its key function is to absorb impact energy and airborne sound vibrations that would otherwise travel down the floor into the wall and then flank into adjacent rooms. By creating a continuous resilient break, the Hush-45L prevents sound from bypassing the main floor treatment. Its closed-cell structure makes it resistant to moisture and ensures long-term performance without degradation.
