A washboy sponge is typically used for cleaning and smoothing grout lines during tile installation. It’s designed to absorb excess grout and water, leaving clean joints between tiles. The term “washboy” refers to a container or bucket used to hold water during the grouting process. The “X-shaped” design refers to the pattern of incisions or cuts on the surface of the sponge. These incisions create multiple smaller sections within the sponge. The purpose of this design is to enhance absorbency and improve the effectiveness of the sponge in collecting dirt and grout residue.

How to use

• After wiping away most of the excess grout, use a clean, damp sponge to gently clean the tile surface.
• Be careful not to disturb the grout lines.
