STEICOmulti Connect is a professional-grade, permanently elastic adhesive sealant. It is the go-to solution for creating airtight connections between membranes and difficult or uneven substrates, such as masonry, concrete, or rough timber, where traditional tapes might struggle to maintain a continuous seal.
CHARCTERISTICS
- Unlike standard builders' caulk, this sealant remains flexible for its entire lifespan. It can absorb the natural settling and structural movements of a building without cracking or losing its airtight bond.
- It has an incredibly high grab, meaning you can often fix membranes directly into the wet bead without the need for a pressure lath (connection batten), saving significant time on-site.
- It can be applied in temperatures as low as −5°C. For the best results, it can be used in two ways:
- Wet bonding: Pressing the membrane into the wet bead immediately (best for uneven surfaces).
- Contact bonding: Letting the bead dry for 16–20 hours until it becomes high-tack, then pressing the membrane on (best for a very strong, flat bond).
- An aqueous dispersion that is safe for internal use and doesn't emit harsh chemical smells.
- Usually supplied in a light blue colour, making it easy to see exactly where the bead has been applied and ensuring no gaps are left in the airtight line.
APPLICATION
- Masonry Connections: Sealing internal vapour control layers (membra 5, renova) to raw brickwork, blockwork, or concrete floor slabs.
- Wall-to-Roof Junctions: Sealing membranes to the wall plate or uneven timber rafters.
- Renovation: Perfect for sealing around service penetrations or where new timber meets old, uneven stone walls.
