STEICOmulti Primer - Solvent-Free Adhesion Promoter - 1Litre
Weight: 1.1kg
Volume: 1 litre
STEICOmulti Primer is a high-performance, solvent-free primer designed to prepare porous or mineral substrates for the application of STEICOmulti self-adhesive tapes and membranes. It penetrates the surface of wood-fibre boards to create a solid, tacky bridge that ensures a permanent, airtight bond. STEICOmulti primer is excellent for any wood-fibre build. Because wood-fibre boards are naturally porous and can be slightly dusty on the surface, standard tapes can struggle to get a permanent grip. This primer is designed to transform that surface into a perfect, tack-ready substrate.
CHARCTERISTICS
- Unlike traditional bitumastic primers, this is a water-based acrylic dispersion. It is safe to use in confined internal spaces and is environmentally friendly, aligning with the ecological credentials of wood-fibre insulation.
- It is engineered to soak into the top fibres of the board, binding any loose particles together to create a stable surface that won't peel away under the tension of the tape.
- In good conditions, the primer flashes off quickly. It changes from a milky white to a transparent finish when it is ready for the tape to be applied.
- While essential for wood-fibre boards, it is also excellent for preparing masonry, concrete, brickwork, and even aerated concrete for taping.
- The handy bottle size and consistency allow it to be applied easily with a brush or a small roller, directly where the tape run is planned.
APPLICATION
- Wood-Fibre Board Preparation: Mandatory for preparing the edges of STEICO Universal, Protect, or Safe boards before applying Multi tape F, P, or Black.
- Masonry Connections: Used on brick or blockwork when connecting internal airtight membranes (membra 5 or renova) to the structure using tape or adhesive sealants.
- Dusty Substrates: Ideal for fixing the surface of old timber or concrete during renovation projects to ensure airtightness tapes don't fail over time.
