120mm SOPRATHERM XR4000 PIR Insulation Board (previously Celotex) - 1200mm x 2400mm

120mm SOPRATHERM XR4000 is a high-performance, rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board manufactured in thicknesses ranging from 110 mm up to 200 mm. It is specifically engineered to help developers meet the most stringent building regulations with a single-layer installation. The XR4000 range is designed for projects where you want to achieve the lowest possible U-values using a single layer of insulation.

CHARACTERISTICS

• By offering boards up to 200 mm thick, it eliminates the need to double-layer insulation, which reduces installation time and labor costs.
• It maintains the industry-leading thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK. This makes it the ideal choice for Passivhaus standards or highly energy-efficient new builds.
• It features aluminium foil facings on both sides. These provide a high-performance vapour control layer and enhance the thermal resistance of any adjacent air gaps.
• Using one thick board instead of two thinner ones reduces the number of joints in the insulation layer, which helps minimise potential air leakage and thermal bridging.
• Despite its significant thickness, the board remains relatively lightweight and easy to handle, providing a stable base for screeds or roofing systems.

APPLICATION

• High-Performance Floors: Often used in ground floors over or under concrete slabs to meet very low U-value targets.
• Pitched Roofs: Ideal for over-rafter or between-rafter insulation in high-specification loft conversions.
