30mm Kingspan OPTIM‑R E Vacuum Insulation Panel - OPTIM‑R E Inverted Roofing System is an ultra‑thin, high‑performance vacuum insulation system designed specifically for inverted flat roofs, where achieving very low U‑values is essential but build‑up height is restricted. The system uses OPTIM‑R E Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) with an exceptional declared thermal conductivity of 0.008 W/mK, delivering insulation performance far superior to conventional inverted‑roof materials.

OPTIM‑R E VIPs are installed beneath the ballast layer (such as paving or gravel) and above the waterproofing membrane. Because VIPs cannot be cut on site, Kingspan provides a project‑specific layout, ensuring panels are placed only in safe zones. Areas where VIPs cannot be used — such as around roof penetrations, outlets, or upstands — are completed using Kingspan OPTIM‑R E Infill Panels, a rigid extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation designed to maintain continuity of thermal performance across the roof. The result is a hybrid inverted‑roof insulation system that achieves maximum thermal efficiency with minimal thickness, ideal for refurbishments, heritage buildings, and new‑build projects with strict height limitations.
