INSTALLATION
  • By using screws and washers, when installing the boards onto a solid wall or ceiling. Use washers and 50mm screws (or longer for thicker boards) to fix the board onto the wall. Short boards require 3 rows of 3 fixings and long boards require 3 rows of 5 fixings, installed approximately 2.54cm from the edge of the board. All the joints and corners should be taped with reinforcing tape and sealed with waterproof tape. The boards can be directly covered with tiles, primed and plastered or covered with wallpaper.
  • Can also be used for lining timber or metal stud frame walls. Use at least 20mm thick board for 600mm centres, 12.5mm board for 400mm centres and at least 10mm board for 300mm centres. Fix the boards with steel screws or washers, placed at every 300mm. Note: 600mm centres require 2 rows of 5 fixings and 300mm centres require 3 rows of 4 fixings.
  • Can be installed by using cement based adhesive. Prior to installing the boards, make sure that the wall is clean and free of any protrusions. The adhesive should be applied to the entire surface of the board or the wall with 6/8mm trowel and the boards firmly pressed against the wall and the joints staggered.
  • Can be fixed to a solid wall by using fixing dowels, which is particularly useful if the wall surface is in anyway uneven. Drilling holes should be made through the boards into the wall, whereas short boards require 5 fixings and long ones require 8 fixings. Dabs of cement based adhesive should be placed over the holes and the boards fixed to the wall.
  • When installing the boards onto the floor as substrate for tiles, you can either use adhesive to bond the boards onto the surface or use screws and washers for wooden floors. The floor surface needs to be clean and level. If you are using the boards for traditional floorboards, make sure to use at least 10mm thick boards, while all thicknesses can be used for sheet timber or concrete floors. The adhesive should be applied to the entire surface of the board or the floor with 6/8mm or alternatively 20mm trowel for uneven floors, and the boards firmly pressed against the wall and the joints staggered.
  • All the joints and corners should be taped with reinforcing tape and sealed with some waterproof tape. Floor tiles can be fixed directly to the board or a heating wire can be laid onto the board and then covered with appropriate tiles. When fixing Marmox Multiboard with screws or washers, use a steel screw or appropriate washer at every 300mm, making sure that the screws are embed into the floor surface by at least 30mm. Short boards require 3 rows of 4 fixings.
