36mm PVC Foam Gasket for Timber Studs is a specialist protection layer designed for rainscreen cladding systems supported by a wooden subframe. Manufactured using high-quality PVC compounds, these gaskets serve as a critical barrier between the cladding panel and the timber batten. By providing a durable seal at every fixing point, these gaskets significantly extend the service life of timber-framed external wall systems.
In a ventilated rainscreen system, moisture is expected to enter the cavity. Without protection, every screw hole in a timber batten becomes a pathway for water to seep into the wood. Over several years, this moisture can soften the timber around the screw, leading to "fixing creep" or eventual failure.

CHARACTERISTICS
- As the fixing (such as a PTS screw) is driven through the gasket into the timber, the closed-cell PVC foam compresses. This creates a watertight seal around the screw shaft, preventing water ingress into the wood grain.

- A timber stud that remains dry and sound retains its structural integrity. This ensures that the mechanical "pull-out" strength of the fixings is maintained for the lifetime of the building, preventing the panels from loosening over time.
- A gasket for intermediate supports. Used to stop water ingress through fixing holes getting back to the timber frame. Also blacks out timber between panels.
