3mm Profigips PVC Render Stop Bead with Mesh (often called the Cut-off Bar with Mesh), is designed to provide a crisp, straight termination for the render system. The integrated mesh ensures that the very edge of the render—the most vulnerable part for delamination—is physically tied into the main reinforcement layer of the wall. This profile is used when you need a clean, reinforced end-point for your render, such as where a rendered extension meets a brickwork wall or where the render terminates at a door frame.

CHARACTERISTICS

• The profile comes with a factory-bonded mesh wing (usually 100mm). This is overlapped with the main wall mesh to prevent any cracking at the boundary where the render ends.
• The PVC nose of the profile provides a clear depth gauge for the renderer. This ensures the render is applied at a consistent thickness right up to the termination point.
• Unlike metal stop beads, this PVC version will never rust or cause unsightly staining on the finished wall. It is also much more resistant to damage during transport and on-site handling.
• It creates a perfectly straight vertical or horizontal line, which is much more professional than trying to free-hand a termination.
• The mesh and the PVC are specifically engineered to withstand the harsh chemical environment of modern basecoats and finishing renders.

APPLICATION

• Material Transitions: Used where render finishes against another material, such as timber cladding, stone, or facing brickwork.
• Door and Window Reveals: Applied at the edges of openings where a standard APU bead might not be suitable or where a wider termination is required.
• End of Terrace: Ideal for finishing a render system at the boundary of a property.
• Soffit Terminations: Used where a rendered wall meets the underside of a roof or a ceiling.

INSTALLATION

• The bead should be fixed to the insulation board or substrate using a high-quality adhesive or a layer of basecoat mortar before the main rendering begins.
• Ensure the main reinforcement mesh of the wall overlaps the 100 mm mesh wing of the stop bead by at least 100 mm to ensure full structural integrity.
• Use a spirit level to ensure the stop bead is perfectly vertical. Because it creates a hard edge against another material, any slight lean will be very obvious.
• Avoid getting render on the visible front face of the PVC nose. If any render does get on it, wipe it off immediately with a damp sponge to maintain the clean white finish.
