60mm EcoTherm Eco-Bond Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board - 1200mm x 1200mm - pack of 5
60mm EcoTherm Eco-Bond Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board is a high-performance PIR (polyisocyanurate) insulation board specifically engineered for use in flat roof applications. It is the professional choice when the project involves bitumen-based waterproofing systems, such as torch-on felt or mastic asphalt. Unlike standard foil-faced boards, Eco-Bond is designed to withstand the thermal and mechanical stresses of hot-applied roofing treatments. Eco-Bond is faced on both sides with a coated glass tissue, autohesively bonded to the insulation core during manufacture. This ensures a formidable bond with bitumen-based waterproofing membranes while maintaining the high thermal efficiency associated with a rigid PIR core.
CHARACTERISTICS
- The glass tissue facing is designed to be fully compatible with hot-applied bitumen and torch-on felt systems. It provides a secure, integrated surface that prevents the membrane from delaminating.
- Flat roofs often require maintenance access. This board is engineered with a high compressive strength (typically 150kPa), allowing it to withstand the incidental foot traffic associated with roof inspections and plant maintenance.
- Despite being a specialist board for hot applications, it remains highly efficient with a thermal conductivity of 0.024 to 0.027 W/mK (depending on the thickness of the board).
- The rigid PIR core is highly stable, meaning it will not shrink, warp, or sag over time. This is critical for flat roofs to ensure that water does not pond in unexpected depressions.
- The board is resistant to mould and fungi and will not provide any nutritional value to vermin. When installed correctly, it will remain effective for the life of the building.
- The product carries British Board of Agrément certification, ensuring it meets the rigorous safety and durability standards required for UK housebuilding.
APPLICATION
- Torch-on Felt Systems: The primary application, where a multi-layer felt system is torched directly onto the insulation (using a sanded or glass-reinforced base sheet).
- Mastic Asphalt: Suitable for use under mastic asphalt waterproofing, providing a stable and heat-resistant substrate.
- Partially Bonded Systems: Ideal for use where membranes are partially bonded to the insulation to allow for minor structural movement.
CERTIFICATION
- BBA Certificate 24/7272
