Knauf Gigamit Basecoat is a polymer-modified lime‑cement base coat render designed for interior and exterior use on mineral substrates and plinth area. Formulated for demanding façade applications, Gigamit provides a robust, durable and breathable undercoat suitable for medium‑heavy masonry and other mineral backgrounds. Its balanced composition ensures excellent adhesion, reliable mechanical strength and a stable surface for subsequent finishing plasters.

Gigamit is engineered for sponge‑finishing, scraped finishes, and mineral top coats, making it ideal for both new‑build and refurbishment projects. With its EN 998‑1 classification, the material delivers consistent performance in areas exposed to weathering, impact and moisture. It forms part of Knauf’s integrated façade system and is compatible with Knauf primers, reinforcing meshes and decorative renders.

Consumption:

• 10mm coat thickness: 10.5 kg/m2
• 15mm coat thickness: 15.6 kg/m2

Note: The consumption values were determined under laboratory conditions. Additional consumption resulting from conditions in practice must be taken into account. The material consumption depends on the roughness, evenness and absorption properties of the substrate as well as the machinery used.
