12.5mm Proctor A1 Cement Board is a lightweight, non-combustible external-grade sheathing board designed for use in steel or timber frame wall applications. Engineered for ease of installation, it features mesh-reinforced facings and a ‘score and snap’ design that allows for quick and clean cutting on site.

CHARACTERISTICS

APPLICATION

• External and internal sheathing for steel or timber frame walls

• Projects requiring robust fire and moisture protection

INSTALLATION

• Ensure timber or metal framing is securely fixed to the structure.
• Fixings should be placed at 600mm centres maximum.
• Add additional support where necessary, especially around penetrations or high-load areas.
• Always carry boards vertically—two-person lift recommended to avoid breakage.
• Mark the board with a utility knife.
• Score one side deeply enough to cut through the mesh.
• Bend and snap along the scored line.
• Cut through the mesh on the reverse side to separate cleanly.
• Use corrosion-resistant screws suitable for timber or metal frames.
• Leave a 3–5mm gap between boards to accommodate movement.
• Apply Wraptite membrane over joints or across the full façade for airtightness and temporary weather protection.

CERTIFICATION

• Classified as A1 non-combustible under BS EN 13501-1, making it suitable for high-risk fire safety zones.
• Tested in accordance with BS EN 12467:2012+A2:2018 – the European standard for fibre-cement flat sheets.
• Certified by KIWA BDA, a recognised independent certification body in the UK.
• Meets Category B, Class 1 requirements for mechanical performance under BS EN 12467.
• Achieves W1 classification for water hold-out, meaning it does not require tapes or sealants for temporary weather protection.
