20mm JCW Fire Rated Luminaire Cover that provides maximum protection for ceilings where fire resistant ceiling tiles have been replaced with light fittings. The cover has been designed for ease of fitting. It is self locating and cannot be fitted incorrectly. It incorporates ventilation slots to reduce any potential for heat build up in the light fitting. In a fire situation the covers intumescent materials expand to fill all the slots with a fire resistant highly insulating char, preventing the fire from penetrating the ceiling. The cover also gives additional insulation protection to the ceiling void and reduces the chance of ignition of accumulated dust and insulation. The cover is unaffected by moisture and is non toxic. With the cover in place the modular light fitting can be installed in the normal way.

- Carefully remove the assembled JCW Fire Rated Luminaire Cover from its packaging.
- Pass the cover diagonally through the ceiling aperture. If it will not pass through the opening it may be necessary to remove one or more of the ceiling struts.
- Ensure that the slots of the JCW Fire Rated Luminaire Cover are positioned over the ceiling grid and that the cover lies flush with the ceiling tiles.
- Push the cables through the pre-made holes, seal cables with intumescent mastic and then continue to fit the module in the normal way.
- Transformers should be sited outside of the cover.
- Ceiling accessories should be fitted in accordance with the ceiling manufacturers recommendations.
