30mm EcoTherm Eco-Torch Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board is a high-performance, rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam insulation board specifically engineered for use under torch-on felt, and roll and pour felt systems, mastic asphalt and fully adhered single ply systems, on concrete, timber or metal decks waterproofing systems. It provides a robust, thermally efficient solution for both new build and refurbishment projects on flat roofs.

CHARACTERISTICS

• Eco-Torch allows you to achieve demanding U-values with minimal thickness, preserving the aesthetic profile of the building.
• Eco-Torch is faced with coated glass tissue on one side and bituminised glass tissue with polypropylene fleece on the other.This ensures a superb bond with torch-applied bituminous membranes and provides excellent resistance to the high temperatures encountered during installation.
• Designed to withstand the rigours of foot traffic associated with roof maintenance and initial construction, the board offers a high compressive strength of ≥150 kPa.
• The boards are lightweight and easy to cut on-site, significantly reducing installation time and physical strain on the contractor.
• Eco-Torch resists attack from dilute alkalis and acids, mineral oil and petrol.
• The insulation is not resistant to ketonic solvents.
• The fibre-free insulation core of Eco-Torch and facings resists attack by mould and microbial growth and do not provide any food value to vermin.
• No need for additional primers or preparation on the board surface before torching.
• The fibre-free PIR core remains stable under high temperatures, preventing warping or shrinkage during the hot works phase of the roof installation.
• Whether you are using mechanical fixings or high-strength bonding adhesives, the dual-faced surfaces ensure a reliable, long-term attachment.

APPLICATION

• New Builds: Ideal for meeting current Part L Building Regulations with a slim profile.
• Refurbishments: Can be used to upgrade the thermal performance of an existing roof (provided the existing structure is sound and dry).
• Green Roofs: Can be used as the insulation layer beneath a green roof build-up.
• The board is suitable for all common structural roof decks:
  • Timber: Plywood, OSB/3, or timber boarding.
  • Concrete: Precast or in-situ concrete slabs.
  • Metal: Profiled steel/metal decks (ensure all board joints are supported by the deck crowns).
