APPLICATION

INSTALLATION

• Ensure supporting framework is level, plumb, and structurally sound.
• Use stainless steel or corrosion‑resistant fixings suitable for external applications.
• Fix boards directly to timber or metal framing, following manufacturer’s fixing centres.
• Position boards with the mesh‑faced side outward to receive render.
• Leave a 3–5 mm gap between boards to accommodate movement.
• Stagger vertical joints to avoid continuous lines.
• Ensure all board edges are fully supported by framing members.
• Use screws with corrosion‑resistant coating or stainless steel.
• Fix at recommended centres (typically 200–300 mm depending on frame type).
• Drive fixings flush with the board surface; do not over‑tighten.
• Maintain minimum edge distances as per manufacturer’s guidance.
• Apply approved basecoat render directly to the board surface.
• Embed reinforcing mesh into the wet basecoat for crack resistance.
• Finish with the specified render system (thin coat, mineral, or polymer‑based).
• Protect installed boards from prolonged exposure before render application.
• Avoid standing water or saturation during construction.
• Cover exposed areas if delays occur before rendering.
