Powerbase VOC & Hydrocarbon Barrier Membrane - 3m x 50m roll
Powerbase VOC & Hydrocarbon Barrier Membrane is a multi‑layer, chemically resistant gas barrier designed to protect buildings on contaminated or brownfield land from volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hydrocarbons, methane, carbon dioxide and radon. It is engineered for covered installations where mechanical stress is low and puncture risk is minimal, forming a continuous, high‑integrity barrier beneath floors and ground‑bearing slabs.
Powerbase VOC is a composite membrane constructed from protective polymeric layers laminated around a hydrocarbon‑resistant core. This structure gives it exceptional resistance to a wide range of contaminants, including benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene. It is designed for use in sub‑slab and below‑ground applications, including residential, commercial and industrial developments. The membrane is installed using hot‑air or hot‑wedge welding, or with Powerbond butyl sealing tapes, ensuring a continuous, gas‑tight system.
Powerbase VOC is compliant with BS 8485 and suitable for projects requiring protection across Green, Amber 1, Amber 2 and Red gas‑risk classifications. Powerbase VOC is a robust, fully certified barrier for sites affected by ground gases and chemical contamination. Its multi‑layer construction, proven chemical resistance and compatibility with welded or taped joints make it a dependable choice for achieving BS 8485‑compliant protection in modern construction.
