Speedline AMF12B Angle Fixing Bracket (often referred to simply as a Soffit Cleat) is a small but heavy-duty accessory that forms the crucial interface between the structural ceiling (the soffit) and the suspended metal framework of the MF system. The AMF12B is a compact, robust bracket, typically taking a U-shaped profile with two holes or slots in its base. It is designed to be highly rigid to prevent rotation or movement once fixed. It is manufactured from thick-gauge, pre-galvanised steel, reflecting its critical role in transferring the entire ceiling load from the primary channel up to the structural soffit. It serves as a fixed anchor point used to connect the SSL06 Angle Hanger (or similar primary suspension angle) to the structural slab above.

Function within the System

The AMF12B's purpose is to facilitate a secure, adjustable, and certified connection:

• Direct Structural Fixing: The base of the AMF12B bracket is fixed directly to the structural soffit (e.g., concrete slab, steel beam) using suitable, certified fixings (such as concrete anchors or self-tapping screws), ensuring it is firmly secured at the calculated suspension centres.
• Hanger Connection: Once fixed, the SSL06 Angle Hanger is positioned against the upright face of the bracket. The two components are then joined together using screws or bolts, forming a rigid drop-rod connection.
• Transfer of Load: The entire weight of the ceiling system—the primary channels (SSMF7), secondary channels (SSMF5), plasterboard, and any integrated services—is transferred through the SSMF7 channel, up the SSL06 Hanger, and finally into the structural soffit via the robust AMF12B Angle Fixing Bracket.
