Speedline SSL06 Angle - Rigid Angle Hanger - 3000mm length
The Speedline SSL06 Rigid Angle is a versatile L-shaped steel section primarily designed to function as a Rigid Angle Hanger within the Speedline MF (Metal Furring) Ceiling System. It is the component responsible for suspending the main load-bearing channel (the SSMF7 Primary Channel) from the structural soffit. The SSL06 is an equal angle steel section, meaning both legs of the 'L' are of the same dimension. It forms a precise 90º corner. It is manufactured from robust, thin-gauge, pre-galvanised steel, ensuring long-term strength and protection against rust. While its main function is suspension, this type of angle is also used for general applications in drylining, such as reinforcing corners, forming cloaks at deflection heads in partitioning systems, or as a support for lighter sub-grids.
Function as a Rigid Hanger
When used in the MF Ceiling System, the SSL06 is typically fixed to the structural soffit and connected to the SSMF7 channel using a dedicated Soffit Cleat (AMF12B) or suitable fixings. It provides a fixed, rigid attachment point, and the suspension centres are carefully calculated (often at 1200mm centres along the primary channels) to ensure the system does not deflect under its full imposed load.

Alternative Fixing Detail and Load Reduction
The angle can be cut and folded inwards to provide an alternative fixing detail. This technique involves snipping the steel and folding both legs of the angle inward, creating a doubled-up, reinforced fixing face. A suitable fixing (e.g., a thunderbolt or anchor) must then pass through both legs of the angle into the structural soffit.

Speedline advises that when this alternative, folded fixing method is used (without the AMF12B cleat), the imposed load that the system can safely support is reduced by 25%. This reduction is necessary because the folded method, while convenient, may not offer the same certified performance as the dedicated cleat and hanger combination.
